I grew up in a rural area on the west side of Washington State, squished between forested mountains and the sea. It was through this landscape I formed a deep relationship with nature. In 2014, shortly after completing a degree in Biology, I moved to a small town set in a wide open and arid region of the state. It was here I was forced to learn how to connect to an environment very different from the one I'd grown up in, and this transformed my creative process and mission.
sensing a modern drift towards disconnection from nature and from each other, my work strives to bridge this illusion of separation and create an avenue to rediscover our inherent interconnection with Everything. Wild and natural subjects are prolific across my paintings, paired with atmospheric and dreamlike abstraction that together create the sense of a portal to the very spirit of Nature, and perhaps sometimes even to our own.
